Picnic at the Burrell
When the sun came out today, we decided to make the most of it and go for a picnic. We made some sandwiches, tomato soup, tea and Sally made some pear, cinnamon and custard tarts.
When we were all packed up, we jumped in the car and headed to Pollock Park and the Burrell Collection. This was our first picnic together since we got married - hopefully we will have plenty more when summer comes around and the temperature rises.
Sally was in charge of the "franka" - a plastic camera i picked up from the charity shop for 50p. We googled it and found an article claiming it was the worst camera ever made (I think they nicknamed it "crapcam") so we thought we would give it a shot and see what happens!
There is so much cool old stuff at the Burrell - it's hard to believe it was all one guys collection from his travels around the world. I didn't know if I was allowed to take photos so I just took a few 'sneaky' snaps when there was no staff about.

Finds of the day.
Today i braved the outside with out a jacket. I appreciate blue skies and sunshine so much more now than when i lived in australia. Its taken me a while though to realize just because its sunny out this does not mean its warm. I went for a nice wonder to the post office and stopped off to get a few things on the way back too!
An excellent vintage cluedo THE ONLY board game i don't hate.
A cook book with a picture of a tin we have!! but thats not why i bought it honestly! Its by donna hay and she's Australian y'know it also has some delicious recipes and a section all about picnic food! brilliant!
Green swede ankle boots what more can i say i couldn't leave them behind! The old lady said "i knew someone young would buy these"
And a lovely white linen table cloth that needs a good wash and a clans of scotland tea towel.

Wedding Invitations
I know its now a fair bit after the 'event'. But I thought I would share some pics of our wedding invitations.
You can see more pics and fabrics here.
The weight of the world…
Last week we went junk shopping around the local junk/antiques shops.
Sally's eagle eyes spotted this beautiful 1970's globe which I then had to carry it all the way back home! You can take a closer look at the globe (and even buy it) here.

Today.
Today, when Sally finished working, we wandered to the Wood Recycling place down the road. Unfortunately my camera run out of juice so I only just managed to get this pic of some nice little planters - there is plenty nice things there to photograph so I think we will have to return when my camera is fully operational!
Next we went round a couple of charity shops. I found some really cool (I thought) 1960's wooden folding chairs but Sally wasn't so convinced so I had to leave them behind.
On the way home we stopped in at the Cottonrake bakery for some treats. The lovely people there talked us through there selection of baked goods. Sally chose a lemon meringue pie and I went for a delicious chocolate brownie - they went perfectly with a nice cup of tea when we got home.

Never let me go.
I dragged john along to see this film the day it came out, i didnt know what it was about and i haddent read the book. John asked me after why i wanted to see it and i replied "the clothes" he didn't understand this but i am glad we saw it, its an excellent film and the clothes are a lovely.
Sunny Shots
I was looking through some of my old pictures today and came across this old batch of Fisheye shots.
After a gloomy start to the day, the sun poked his head out for a little while this afternoon. With all the rain and snow here recently it's nice to be reminded that (hopefully) the sun will return for longer spells soon!
These snaps are from the first time Sally made the long journey north to visit my sunny hometown village of Golspie almost 3 years ago. (thats her sitting on the bench in the second shot)
