Get up.

I am making a conscious decision to give you's (terrible grammar i know but its late) a break from our small family's holiday snaps as i have got my film developed and are gonna hit you all over again with some proper real film snaps *soon. *i swear. *i hope. the last few days i have spent in between working odd hours making my way through an ever long list of real important things i need to do. the only benefit of having a list of really important life things to do is that i procrastinate by doing the other normal to do list jobs today i folded my souvenir tea towel collection (after realizing i really do have a collection more on that later), colour coded my cardigans, ironing table cloths, polishing the toaster, and looking around Erin Hansons website and following good tips about not being lazy! she is also the credit of the above photos. go see.

creaks. cat. and a red kettle.

I love the etsy series "theres no place like home" but this is my favorite so far. I love this little house! The couples etsy shop is also defiantly one to be envied.

Borough Market.

Borough Markets in London was on my must do list so our friend Tom unbeknown was put in charge of getting me there he wove us through London in and out of the Tate book shop under bridges and over bridges (thanks Tom). The space that holds the markets and surrounding shops is beautiful and well worth the visit so so many old hand painted signs (if you've been reading for a wile you would know we are suckers for them.) Anyway the reason i dragged the boys around London to here was because i was desperate to visit Monmouth Coffee Co and i get stupidly excited/ and annoyingly judgmental about coffee John would tell you he hates going for coffee with me!

It was marvelous. I had a latte and Tom had a single origin filter coffee. The space was small and had a communal table with a large plate of bread butter and jam all you can eat for £3 we sat on stools at the window looking out onto the street. John was less as impressed as this coffee shop sells only coffee!! so we went for a wonder and got him a brownie he sure was spoiled for choice as we wondered around the vendors selling all sorts of loveliness.

Farm.

As mentioned before. We flew to London last week to spend a few days with our good friends Jen and Tom in Hitchin.

We had many an adventure during our short stay - over the next few days we will be documenting them here.

Church Farm is a high welfare, ecological and low carbon farm in Ardeley - but more importantly, its really cool!

The hatchery is a great place to see duck and chicken eggs hatching before your very eyes… this little guy broke out of his shell just when we arrived! There are also a lot of cute little chicks/ducklings running around and keeping warm. I don't think you are supposed to touch, but Tom couldn't resist scooping this one up.

The farm also has a nice little Café where we enjoyed its fine produce in the form of our delicious lunch!

Simple Math

Today I got mail… excellent mail… the new Manchester Orchestra vinyl to be exact!

This is one of the best music videos i have seen in a while.

TODAY!!

Is my Best friends birthday! So we are flying to london to see her. She is the best of the best! For 90% of our friendship we have lived in different countries but we where made for each other so that never mattered. We first met in art class when Jen put "jamie" on the stereo we bonded over this very unpopular choice of the dashboard confessional cover of the Weezer song. We then spent alot of our time drinking red wine on the floor of dirty pubs and sleeping most of the day. She inspires me endlessly and i am unashamedly jealous of everything she does.

So pal If nothing else i hope these pictures from our past will make you smile. Sorry i have got you a crap present!

Finders Keepers.

I really miss the markets in Australia and Finders Keepers is a good one. Although I am enjoying seeing the market scene here in Glasgow grow and this summer holds promise for a few good ones and i am really crossing my fingers for some more homemade goodies.

Finders Keepers also have a blog with this really useful blog post that gives tips on running a market stall.

All photos from here.

oh and perhaps in the next week i'll have the courage to share some old photos of the good old Kim and Sally vintage-wares an old market we used to do when we where but mere "kids".
