I hear it's the jubilee this weekend, two of my favourite things are bunting and the royal family!

Any excuse to hang some of our vintage Union Jack bunting!

not any old vintage.

We have been in Australia for over two weeks now and have been wondering all around. One place we keep returning too is this little cafe suitably named Vintage. Its surroundings suit me just fine, the people are as friendly as friendly gets, and the treats are delicious.

I think my mum would like you to know that she is a regular here also.

Meet Columbo…

This is Columbo. He caught our eye at the auctions a few weeks ago, I raised my hand a couple of times and we got to take him home!

He has clearly been well loved over his lifetime before being abandoned in a cold, damp auction house – hopefully we will be able to put a smile put back on his face soon…

People.

I picked up this 80's book from a charity shop a little while ago.

We were flicking through it the other day, and considering its aimed at children, some of the content is pretty amusing…

This illustraion of a 'traditional Aboriginal dwelling' made us laugh.

Just what every child should know! You wont find many kids books that end like that nowadays.

Kilt Jackets.

On a recent trip to the car boot sale, I managed to pick up these little beauties for only £6 the pair!

The tweed one is my favourite and came with a matching waistcoat and really cool leather buttons.

These are definitely one of my proudest car boot finds, now all I need is an excuse to wear them!

Ladder

We have been really busy gathering together a whole load of new 'stuff' over the last few weeks – including this old step ladder. I spotted it abandoned at the side of the road while on my way back from work and thought it deserved better.

It is now home to some of our latest finds.

home envy.

Recently my charity shopping has gotten out of hand.

I have made friends with all the lovely people that volunteer in them and i go sometimes more than twice a week. John was making a list of all the things we have already too much of, top of the list was tins, then enamel, blankets, tea towels, kitchen utensils and table cloths.

I kind of agree but then i saw this home and collections that belongs to this lovely lady. Sorry john choose your battles i can't stop.

His & Hers.

John and i accidentally went out the other day in matching nautical theme outfits i wondered how long into marriage this would take. Anyway i thought it would be nice to show you some of our other matching things over the next wee while, this doesn't happen on purpose and we haven't left the house coordinating since.
These are our Anglepoise lamps they where one of the first things we ever bought with our "together money" we bought them a few weeks apart too. I like that we have matching lamps displayed in different ways.

tool boxes.

downloading...
downloading...We have a couple of old wooden tool boxes hanging around in our flat we love them but i had major envy when i saw this one. its contents are amazing, everything has its own little place. it also appears to be teeny tiny which makes it even more covetable. find it here. although id hate to know what they are charging for it. sadly i think it will never be mine.
