cress!

I got some good gifts recently coinciding with getting older. This one was especially special not only because the giver is real good, but because it has provided weeks of fun and nutrition! not to mention how nice it looks on the window sill. Even the instructions where incredibly thought out  starting with 'sow contents thinly on moist compost in attractive shallow dish' ending with 'add to your favorite salad. enjoy.' Enjoy i did. Thanks Jen.

Quilt and a Visit.

I've made a quilt! Took a little while but finished it just in time for a visit from Tom and Jen. They have been sleeping on our floor in our freezing cold flat for two nights although John turned the heating on in their honor and to much applause from me.

"What a wonderfully warm and fashionable quilt" - Jen Head.

We contacted Tom for a comment but he refused.

Create!

I have been doing a bit of work recently for our good friend Nicola.

Her wonderful new shop 'Create' opens this weekend. Unfortunately we can't make the grand opening, but we got a sneaky peak last week and it was looking really great!

She will be selling a whole host of hand-made, vintage and crafty goods as well as offering craft classes to the lucky people of Blairgowrie.

Her website is currently under construction but will be online soon (I hope).

This is my parents new kitten and the newest member of the Argyle clan. Her name is Abbey. She is very cute and enjoys getting her photo taken.

Now we just need a tortoise for her to ride about on!

Last night i discovered that you can only just fit six people in our flat for dinner. We don't even have six appropriate chairs. But any excuse to use my vintage linen napkins and see some good friends.

These handkerchiefs where my grandmothers, i held one at her funeral and one at my wedding. i cant help but love them.

Our office chair and my sewing stool made for the head and foot of the table.

Borough Market.

Borough Markets in London was on my must do list so our friend Tom unbeknown was put in charge of getting me there he wove us through London in and out of the Tate book shop under bridges and over bridges (thanks Tom). The space that holds the markets and surrounding shops is beautiful and well worth the visit so so many old hand painted signs (if you've been reading for a wile you would know we are suckers for them.) Anyway the reason i dragged the boys around London to here was because i was desperate to visit Monmouth Coffee Co and i get stupidly excited/ and annoyingly judgmental about coffee John would tell you he hates going for coffee with me!

It was marvelous. I had a latte and Tom had a single origin filter coffee. The space was small and had a communal table with a large plate of bread butter and jam all you can eat for £3 we sat on stools at the window looking out onto the street. John was less as impressed as this coffee shop sells only coffee!! so we went for a wonder and got him a brownie he sure was spoiled for choice as we wondered around the vendors selling all sorts of loveliness.
